La Chaise Impossible: The Perfect Balance of Beauty and Function

A Chair Like No Other

Seeking to design a beautiful chair yet so simple to make, small and light in order to make a gift for a very close friend that helped me pay for an expensive surgery... We had always shared a passion for exquisite chair design so this was a very challenging task... Make it simple, practical, beautiful, strong, lasting, comfortable.... And, so it was a eureka moment when the two pieces of wood together could stand in perfect equilibrium.

Enrique Rodríguez, the mastermind behind the La Chaise Impossible, has created a chair that defies expectations. With its unique design and innovative features, this chair is a true work of art.

What sets the La Chaise Impossible apart from other chairs is its ability to stand on only two legs. This feat of engineering is made possible by the careful balance and distribution of weight. Despite its lightweight construction, weighing between 5 to 10 kilograms, the chair is incredibly sturdy and can support up to 120 kilograms.

Not only is the La Chaise Impossible a marvel of design, but it is also practical and versatile. The chair can be easily moved and lifted, making it ideal for any space. It even drops down to the floor, offering a unique seating position at floor level. Whether indoors or outdoors, this chair adds elegance and a trendy touch to any environment.

One of the key strengths of the La Chaise Impossible is its simplicity. It is made from solid wood and aluminum tubing, with no screws or nails required. This not only enhances its aesthetic appeal but also ensures its longevity and durability. The chair is designed to last forever, and its modular design allows for different positions and uses.

Enrique Rodríguez's creation is not just a chair; it is a piece of art. Its clean and attractive design makes it a standout in any setting. The chair's rocking motion adds an element of fun and relaxation, making it a favorite among users. Additionally, the La Chaise Impossible is eco-friendly and recyclable, aligning with the growing demand for sustainable design.

The La Chaise Impossible project began in August 2013 and was completed in February 2014. Throughout the design process, Rodríguez faced numerous challenges, including defying the laws of physics to create a chair that stands on only two legs. However, through innovation and a focus on simplicity, he was able to overcome these obstacles and create a truly remarkable piece of furniture.

The La Chaise Impossible has received recognition for its exceptional design. In 2015, it was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Street and City Furniture Design category. This prestigious award is given to designs that meet professional and industrial requirements while also providing fulfillment and positive feelings to users.

Enrique Rodríguez's La Chaise Impossible is a testament to the power of design and innovation. With its unique balance of beauty and function, this chair is sure to leave a lasting impression on anyone who encounters it.
